About the event
Divine Times Collective proudly presents the Pan-Afro Wisdom Fest (POW Fest), an immersive festival centering Black and especially Black queer individuals across the African diaspora. Rooted in inner-child healing, cultural exchange, and community-led growth, POW Fest offers a deeply intentional space for joy, connection, and reclamation. On August 17 from 12–7 PM at Herbert Von King Park, join us for an inspiring day of performances by Cleo Reed, Rocki Ozai, Roselle, and a laughter meditation to start us off led by Laraaji. Explore workshops led by artists, therapists, and social workers including yoga, natural dyeing, holistic resources, creative therapy, and more. Activities will include childhood games at our Free Play Zone, offerings by The Black Girl Fight Club, and our Drawing Nook. Through storytelling and intergenerational dialogue, we honor the resilience and creativity of Black diasporic communities. Let your inner-child shine!
Please bring a small item for our community altar—this could be a photo, flower, stone, poem, written names of ancestors, incense, or anything meaningful to you.
Gifts of Gratitude!
Every $10 donation enters you to win amazing prizes, and supports all the artists making P.O.W. Fest and our events at DTC possible. This year we have opportunities to win one-year memberships to BAM, Pioneer Works, and more worth more than $300+! So there are multiple chances to win.
$10 is the recommended donation, but no one will be turned away!
By RSVPing, you consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in photos or videos, please email divinetimescollective@gmail.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
POW Fest is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council. This event is also proudly supported in part by RESIST.
